“If you are an old fool, I’ll reset your brain. Stupid man!” – A Plus blasts AG

Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A Plus, is a Member of Parliament. He represents Gomoa Central. Recently, he responded to Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine.

A Plus accused Dr. Ayine of seeking a GH¢500,000 bribe. This money was allegedly intended for the Appointment Committee of Parliament. A Plus called Dr. Ayine an "old fool" and suggested he needs to "reset his brain."

Dr. Ayine challenged A Plus to provide evidence of corruption. He stated that if A Plus has proof, he should hold a press conference.

The Attorney General emphasized that he is not on the Finance Committee. Therefore, he cannot influence its composition as claimed by A Plus. He also mentioned having documents to support his statements.

During a media briefing on April 30, 2025, Dr. Ayine asserted his integrity. He said, “I have never stolen or taken a bribe in public office.” He added that the President would not appoint him if there were doubts about his integrity.

Dr. Ayine invited A Plus to present any evidence against him publicly. He expressed confidence in facing any accusations made by A Plus.

He found A Plus's threats amusing and stated he has nothing to hide. Dr. Ayine noted that receiving campaign contributions does not equate to theft or corruption.

He concluded by saying if accepting donations is theft, then many MPs are guilty too, including A Plus himself.
