Kwame Asuah Takyi, the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), is facing criticism over politically motivated promotions and appointments.
Reports claim he is promoting New Patriotic Party (NPP) loyalists to key positions, including the rank of commissioner, before his departure.
These actions have sparked concerns about merit being overlooked in favor of political loyalty, with some junior officers being promoted over more qualified seniors.
Takyi is also accused of trying to admit his bodyguard and other NPP supporters into the GIS Academy.
Critics argue that such moves could undermine the professionalism of the service, with growing calls for transparency and merit-based decisions to restore confidence in the institution.
