Inauguration of 9th Parliament will be smooth and peaceful – Planning Committee

Ghana's 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic will officially dissolve on January 6, 2025, as preparations for the 9th Parliament's inauguration gain momentum.

Deputy Clerk Camillo Pwamang, addressing the media, emphasized national unity and transparency during this pivotal transition.

The newly elected MPs will convene at 11:00 PM on January 6 to elect a Speaker and two Deputy Speakers, setting the stage for legislative leadership.

Planning Committee Chair Gifty Twum Ampofo assured fair and collaborative processes, urging Ghanaians to embrace the presidential inauguration on January 7, celebrating democratic values and new leadership.

The transition aims to reinforce Ghana’s democratic foundations, ensuring a seamless and inclusive process for all citizens.
