Individual brilliance and team spirit key to beating Madagascar – Otto Addo

Black Stars coach Otto Addo believes individual talent and teamwork are key. Ghana will face Madagascar in the World Cup qualifiers on Monday.

Addo is confident in his squad's skills. However, he stresses that teamwork and adaptability are crucial.

“We must work for each other,” he said, as quoted by Ghana FA. “If someone makes a mistake, others should help.”

He added, “We need to push each other positively, even when things go wrong.” Football involves mistakes; the team that makes more will lose.

“It’s vital to maintain a positive mindset after mistakes,” he continued. “How we react as a team will be decisive.”

Addo praised his players for following tactics in their win over Chad. He expects Madagascar to present a different challenge.

“Preparation includes both offensive and defensive strategies,” he noted. “Madagascar is a new task; it will be different.”

He emphasized the importance of reading the game and signals. Leadership on the pitch is also essential.

“Leaders play a big role in correcting positions,” Addo explained.

His strategy focuses on tactical discipline and teamwork. “We must demand concentration from each other,” he said.

Despite statistics favoring Ghana, Addo remains cautious. “Football isn’t simple mathematics,” he warned.

“You can have more chances but still not win.”

Otto concluded with an appeal to fans: “We want to give everything for tomorrow’s game.” He hopes to earn points and looks forward to their next home match.
