Integrating evidence-based research into Ghana's health systems is crucial. This approach will create a resilient and fair healthcare system for all citizens.
Professor Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), emphasized this point. He stated that it would help the country implement innovations effectively. These innovations should lead to better health outcomes.
Prof. Akoriyea's remarks were delivered by Dr. Samuel K. Boakye-Boateng. He is the Upper East Regional Director of Health Service. The comments were made at the end of a two-day health systems innovation conference in Accra.
The conference took place on Wednesday and was organized by the Regional Institute of Population Studies (RIPS). It was held in collaboration with GHS and funded by the Doris Duke Foundation (DDF).
Researchers, policymakers, health practitioners, and young researchers attended the event. They shared research findings, knowledge, and best practices to enhance Ghana’s health systems.
