Interior Minister calls for collaboration to strengthen national security

The Minister of Interior, Mr. Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has called for teamwork to improve national security. He emphasized the need for collaboration between the government and key stakeholders.

Mr. Muntaka stated that government and religious leaders should unite. Their goal is to promote peace, social cohesion, and security in Ghana.

After meeting with Christian leaders in Kumasi, he highlighted that peace and security are shared responsibilities. He encouraged stakeholders to exchange ideas to foster harmony.

“Your influence in promoting peace is invaluable,” he said. He urged them to continue spreading messages of love, forgiveness, and hope from their pulpits.

He expressed confidence in creating a safer Kumasi and Ghana through joint efforts.

The Minister also addressed the rising issue of drug abuse. This problem threatens communities and endangers young people.

He urged Christian leaders to support treatment and rehabilitation initiatives for those affected by drug abuse.

Mr. Muntaka sought partnerships to strengthen the Ghana Prisons Service and the Ghana National Fire Service. These partnerships aim to tackle challenges like overcrowding and poor infrastructure.

He praised Christian organizations, especially the Church of Pentecost, for helping build modern facilities. These facilities equip inmates with skills such as farming and tailoring.

The minister reaffirmed his commitment to working with Christian leaders. He maintains an open-door policy to promote peace and understanding.

The meeting included representatives from various Christian organizations. They aimed to enhance social cohesion and security across Ghana.
