The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, has given 60 pickup vehicles and 20 motorbikes to the Ghana Police Service. This is part of efforts to strengthen security for the government’s 24-hour economy initiative.
The vehicles were assembled locally by Zonda Tec Ghana Limited. They are expected to improve police operations and enhance security for workers and businesses under this economic model.
At the presentation ceremony, the Minister announced a new specialized unit within the police. This unit will provide round-the-clock protection tailored for the 24-hour economy.
“These vehicles, assembled in Ghana by Zonda Tec, show our commitment to improving logistics,” said the Minister. He emphasized promoting local manufacturing as well.
This donation comes as the government accelerates key policies for economic growth. It aims to create a secure environment for investment and business expansion.
During a visit to Zonda Tec’s assembly plant, the Minister shared plans to digitalize work permits. This will streamline regulatory processes and make Ghana more business-friendly.
“I encourage all businesses to take advantage of opportunities under the 24-hour economy,” he stated. He reminded them to operate within legal boundaries while ensuring safety and security for every Ghanaian.
Madam Yang Yang, CEO of Zonda Tec, praised this partnership. She expressed pride in her company’s role in supporting national security. “This initiative highlights how local industry supports institutions like the Ghana Police Service,” she noted.
