The Interior Minister of Ghana, Ambrose Dery, has expressed a commitment to collaborate with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to tackle migration challenges in the country. During a meeting with IOM officials, he emphasized the need for comprehensive strategies to manage both regular and irregular migration effectively. Dery highlighted that migration should be viewed as a development opportunity rather than solely a challenge.
The minister acknowledged the complexities surrounding migration issues, including human trafficking and smuggling. He underscored the importance of enhancing national capacities and fostering partnerships to address these concerns. By working closely with IOM, Ghana aims to implement policies that ensure safe and orderly migration while protecting the rights of migrants.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen Ghana's response to migration challenges and promote sustainable development within the region.
