Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak is set to brief Parliament on the controversial search conducted at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison.

The operation, carried out by heavily armed National Security operatives on March 19 at Addison’s Roman Ridge home, has sparked public outrage.

Officers reportedly disabled CCTV cameras and ransacked the property, raising concerns about due process.

Members of Parliament, particularly from the Minority, have demanded full disclosure on the legality of the search warrant and the justification for the raid. They insist that Parliament must ensure accountability for security agencies' actions.

The Interior Minister is expected to address key questions, including the reasons behind the search warrant, the allegations against Dr. Addison, and whether similar operations are planned for other former officials.

However, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has announced that the minister will not be available on March 25, with a new date to be communicated later. He also defended the operation, stating that it was a lawful search, not a raid.

Meanwhile, Dr. Addison and his family remain shaken by the incident, with close associates describing the experience as traumatic and unjustified.
