Interior Minister warns against attacks on fire officers

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has issued a warning. He cautioned the public against attacking personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

During the opening of a new fire station in Gomoa Fetteh, he expressed concern. There have been increasing assaults on fire officers. These attacks often happen due to alleged delays in emergency responses.

To protect fire personnel, new measures will be implemented. The minister announced a collaboration with the Ghana Police Service. This partnership aims to ensure safety during operations.

“We will enhance the safety of our staff,” said Mr. Mubarak. Firefighters will be accompanied by police when responding to emergencies. Anyone who attacks them will face immediate arrest and prosecution.

Mr. Mubarak emphasized that such attacks are unacceptable. He assured the public that the government is committed to strengthening emergency response systems while protecting frontline workers.
