The Ministry of Interior has warned private security organizations in Ghana against using unauthorized uniforms.
This follows the arrest of two individuals on June 14 for wearing military-like uniforms, violating the Police Service (Private Security Organisations) Regulations. The Ministry emphasized that approved uniforms include specified combinations of shirts and trousers for different security sectors.
A nationwide sensitization and monitoring exercise, started in 2023, aims to ensure compliance. Private security organizations must adhere to regulations or face sanctions.
The Ministry acknowledges the crucial role of private security but insists on strict adherence to regulations for the safety and security of Ghanaians.
