The Interior Ministry has warned Private Security Organisations (PSOs) against using unauthorized uniforms, emphasizing legal consequences for non-compliance.

On June 18, 2024, the Ministry stated that violators would face arrest and legal action. Recently, two individuals were arrested for wearing uniforms resembling military attire, violating regulations.

They were granted bail, and the responsible company will face sanctions. The Ministry acknowledged the vital role of PSOs in supporting Ghana’s security services but stressed the importance of adhering to regulations to ensure public safety.

The Ministry remains committed to creating a secure environment and collaborating with the private security sector.
