Interpol issues red notice for Ofori-Atta over corruption allegations

Interpol has listed Ghana's former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, as "Wanted." This announcement is on Interpol's official website.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor made this declaration. Ofori-Atta was re-declared wanted after missing an interrogation on June 2. The Special Prosecutor announced that steps were taken to issue an Interpol Red Notice for him.

Ofori-Atta is under investigation for several high-profile cases. These include:

1. Petroleum and Minerals Revenue Assurance: Contracts with Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited and the GRA.
2. Electricity Company Contract Termination: Ending a contract with Beijing Xiao Cheng Technology (BXC).
3. National Cathedral Project: Issues related to procurement and finances for the cathedral's construction.
4. Ambulance Procurement: A contract with Service Ghana Auto Group Limited for 307 ambulances.
5. GRA Tax P-Fund Management: Handling funds from the GRA’s Tax P-Fund Account.

On Interpol's website, Ofori-Atta is charged with "using public office for profit."
