Former Tamale Central MP, Inusah Fuseini, has criticized Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for urging President John Mahama to apologise for his promise to appoint 60 ministers if re-elected.
Fuseini called Afenyo-Markin’s remarks politically driven and unnecessary, emphasizing Mahama’s commitment to maintaining a lean government.
Speaking on Joy Newsfile, Fuseini questioned the Majority Leader’s logic, highlighting that Vice President Dr. Bawumia also pledged to work with 50 ministers during his campaign.
Fuseini stressed that political leaders must honor their promises to gain public trust and ensure prudent resource management.
Afenyo-Markin had earlier argued in Parliament that Mahama’s 60-minister proposal undermines governance efficiency, urging him to apologise for underestimating the complexities of leadership.
