Former Lands Minister Inusah Fuseini has slammed Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene for giving illegal miners a two-week ultimatum to vacate forest reserves and waterways.
Fuseini argues that criminals should face immediate action rather than being granted time to escape or cover their tracks.
"We don’t give criminals time to prepare," he stated, likening it to catching someone in wrongdoing and allowing them to clean up at their convenience.
Meanwhile, he commended EPA boss Prof. Brown Klutse for her firm stance on illegal mining, applauding her swift interventions.
The debate over enforcement methods intensifies as illegal mining continues to threaten Ghana’s forests and water bodies.
