Investigation into cybersecurity breach affecting 5,700 MTN customers begins

The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations has launched an investigation. This is due to a cybersecurity breach affecting 5,700 customers of MTN Ghana.

The Ministry is working with several organizations. These include the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), the National Communications Authority (NCA), and the Data Protection Commission (DPC). They aim to assess the breach's extent and identify affected customers.

A press statement from the Ministry was released. Investigators will check if the breach came from the Mobile Network Operator. The Ministry urged customers to remain calm during this process.
