Is NPP now a secret society? – Franklin Cudjoe questions

In a recent commentary, Franklin Cudjoe raised concerns about the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana, questioning whether it has transformed into a secretive organization. He highlighted the party's lack of transparency and accountability, particularly regarding its internal processes and decision-making. Cudjoe emphasized that such secrecy undermines democratic principles and alienates party members and the public.

Cudjoe pointed out that the NPP's current approach could lead to disillusionment among its supporters, as they feel excluded from important discussions and decisions. He argued that a political party should be open and inclusive, fostering dialogue rather than operating behind closed doors. This lack of engagement may ultimately weaken the party’s foundation and diminish trust among its constituents.

Furthermore, Cudjoe called for a reevaluation of the NPP's practices to ensure it remains true to democratic ideals. He urged party leaders to prioritize transparency and inclusivity to rebuild confidence among their supporters. By doing so, he believes the NPP can strengthen its position in Ghanaian politics while adhering to the values of democracy.
