Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of Government Communication, has dismissed claims. These allegations suggest that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) funded the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr. Ofosu spoke on TV3’s KeyPoints on Saturday, May 10. He called the claims “most improbable” and “illogical.”
He stated, “The idea that a party in government would finance their opponents defies logic.” He was referring to a memo by Kwabena Adu-Boahene, former Director General of the National Signals Bureau.
This controversial memo suggests that NPP allocated funds to NDC before an important election. However, Mr. Ofosu believes such a move is unthinkable in Ghana's competitive politics.
He said, “I don’t see how the NPP government would approve significant amounts of money for the NDC.” He emphasized that it is highly unlikely.
The memo has not been officially verified yet. Still, its claims have sparked public debate. Mr. Ofosu insists these allegations lack credibility and questions their motives.
