Ghanaian journalist and politician Fritz Baffour believes it is too early to judge President John Mahama's performance. He argues that assessing his work within the first three months of his four-year term is unfair.
Speaking on the Joy News AM show, Mr. Baffour highlighted that many key positions are still vacant. The President's appointees have not yet been fully established, and the budget is pending approval.
“It is very unfair for us to assess him in just three months,” he said. “We have not yet established our MMDCEs, and the impact has yet to be felt.”
Mr. Baffour referenced a recent Joy Talk show with tax experts. They noted, “Look, we can’t feel the impact now.” He agreed that it’s premature to evaluate the government's policies.
He also mentioned a positive shift in Ghana’s political climate. Since the government change, there is a renewed sense of freedom and hope. This change was much needed after what he called eight difficult years.
“The good thing is that there is now an air of hope and freedom,” he concluded.
