Mrs. Laura Ranalli is the Italian Ambassador to Ghana. She recently visited the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, at Police Headquarters in Accra.
She was accompanied by Mr. Gabriele Ubaldo Palermo, the Deputy Head of Mission. Brigadier General Andrea Paris also joined them. He is a Security and Capacity Building Expert with the Italian delegation to the African Union and UNECA.
This visit aimed to strengthen diplomatic relations between Italy and Ghana. They focused on enhancing cooperation between the Ghana Police Service and the Italian government in security matters.
During their meeting, they discussed collaboration opportunities in law enforcement training. They also talked about technical support and sharing best practices against transnational crime.
The IGP expressed gratitude for the long-standing partnership with Italy. He reaffirmed his commitment to deepening cooperation in mutual interest areas.
Mrs. Ranalli praised the Ghana Police Service for its professional policing efforts. She emphasized Italy's readiness to support initiatives promoting peace and security in Ghana and West Africa.
The meeting ended with a commitment to explore concrete steps for enhanced security collaboration.
