The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) is urging President Akufo-Addo to expedite the approval of its proposed salary reviews, following recommendations submitted by the Judicial Council.
In a December 31, 2024 statement, JUSAG commended the inclusion of compensation provisions in the Judicial Service's budget but expressed concerns over delays in the approval process.
The association revealed that its National Executive Council has petitioned Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo to intervene and ensure timely implementation.
While JUSAG noted assurances from the Presidency and the Finance Ministry, it warned of planned industrial actions if unnecessary delays persist.
“We are monitoring progress and have outlined industrial action strategies should the government fail to act promptly,” the statement emphasized.
