Jantuah urges suspended CJ Torkornoo to rise above grievances if reinstated

Legal practitioner Kwame Jantuah has addressed suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo. He urged her to remain fair and avoid retaliation if reinstated.

Speaking on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey, Jantuah stressed the importance of unity in the judiciary. He warned that unresolved tensions could harm the institution's credibility.

He said, “If the Chief Justice is vindicated, she might choose to retire.” If she decides to return, he advised her to avoid targeting colleagues.

“It’s crucial for her to have a clear mind,” he added. This approach would prevent challenges within the Supreme Court and judiciary.

Jantuah emphasized that if reinstated, the Chief Justice must show strong leadership. Personal grievances should not affect her duties or decisions.

He stated, “If she feels wronged by colleagues during this process, she should rise above it.”

He cautioned against any payback or sidelining of judges involved in her case.

“Such actions could lead to division and allow political influence into the judiciary,” he warned.

Jantuah concluded by highlighting the need for all government branches to work together effectively.
