Jean Mensah’s resignation or removal is not Mahama’s priority—Haruna Iddrisu

Former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has criticized Joyce Bawa Mogtari's calls for the resignation of the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson, Jean Mensah.

Iddrisu argued that unless the EC Chairperson has committed misconduct, there is no need for a change in leadership. He emphasized that John Dramani Mahama is not focused on who holds the position of EC Chair.

Iddrisu pointed out that past concerns with former chairperson Charlotte Osei were related to procurement issues, and any similar issue with Mensah should determine her future.

In contrast, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, speaking to Channel 1 Television, called for the chairperson’s resignation, accusing the EC of partisanship, incompetence, and delaying election results, which she believes has contributed to violence.
