A 36-year-old unemployed man, Foster Nyarko, has been convicted for stealing a Samsung Galaxy A54 5G belonging to a Principal Administrator at the Human Resource Unit of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

Nyarko, who was seeking employment, visited the CHRAJ office in October 2024 but took advantage of an empty office to steal the phone, valued at GH¢4,999.

He was arrested on January 30, 2025, in connection with another theft at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons.

CCTV footage from the CHRAJ office led to his identification and subsequent arrest.

He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing before the court, presided over by Basilia Adjei-Tawiah, which deferred sentencing to February 27, 2025.
