John Jinapor, the Ranking Member on the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, has received a report from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) regarding its operations and challenges. The report outlines various issues faced by ECG, including financial constraints and infrastructural deficits that hinder its ability to provide reliable electricity services. Jinapor emphasized the importance of addressing these challenges to ensure efficient service delivery and improve customer satisfaction.
During his review of the report, Jinapor expressed concern over the rising debt levels within ECG and called for urgent measures to stabilize the company’s finances. He highlighted that without significant investment in infrastructure and technology, ECG would struggle to meet growing energy demands. Jinapor urged stakeholders, including government entities, to collaborate in finding sustainable solutions that would enhance ECG's operational efficiency while ensuring affordable electricity for consumers.
