Join me on ‘Thank You Tour’ – Bawumia to former contenders

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP's 2024 Presidential Candidate, has invited former rivals to join him on a Thank You Tour. This tour aims to strengthen unity within the party.

Dr. Bawumia won about 61.43% of the votes in the primaries. He defeated Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai-Nimoh.

At the tour's launch on April 23, 2025, he emphasized his desire for unity. He stated that this approach is different from tradition. Typically, only the presidential candidate conducts a Thank You Tour.

“I want us to be united,” he said. “That is why I am departing from the normal Thank You Tour.” He invited his former competitors to join him in this effort.

He believes showing togetherness will present a strong front for the NPP as they prepare for the 2024 elections. “We need to build on this unity going forward,” he added.

Dr. Bawumia stressed that focus should shift from internal contests to winning national elections. “It’s not time for primaries,” he noted. Winning a primary means little if it doesn’t lead to general election success.

The Thank You Tour will take Dr. Bawumia and key figures across all 16 regions. They will thank delegates and supporters while reinforcing the NPP’s campaign message.
