Join me on the ‘Thank You Tour’ – Bawumia to NPP leaders

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has invited party leaders to join him on a nationwide 'Thank You Tour.'

This tour aims to promote unity within the NPP as they prepare for the 2024 general elections. Dr. Bawumia won the party's flagbearer position with about 61.43% of the vote. He defeated notable figures like Kennedy Agyapong and Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

At the tour launch on April 23, 2025, in Accra, he explained his decision to include former rivals. “I want us to be united,” he said, emphasizing this break from tradition.

“Normally, the presidential candidate does the Thank You Tour alone,” he noted. “But I am doing it differently this time for unity.” He stressed that unity is crucial for strengthening NPP’s chances in the election.

Dr. Bawumia believes a joint tour will send a strong message of reconciliation. It will also boost morale among party supporters nationwide. “I want to invite my former contestants so we can show a united front,” he added.

He urged party members to focus on winning the national polls instead of internal competition. “It is not time for primaries,” he stated firmly.

“What we are doing is building a party that can win.” He warned that winning a primary without winning the general election is pointless.

The nationwide tour will cover all 16 regions. It will serve as a platform to thank delegates and build momentum for NPP’s campaign.
