Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to join the NPP. He wants citizens to help defend the environment, water bodies, and democratic rights.
At a press briefing, he expressed concerns about the government's direction. He called on citizens to actively protect the Fourth Republic and uphold the law.
Ahiagbah criticized the government for not addressing illegal mining, known as galamsey. He also accused it of using state institutions to target political opponents. This is not what Ghanaians expected when they voted in recent elections.
He stressed that all government actions must comply with legal standards. Additionally, he highlighted the urgent need to protect Ghana's environment. Both the government and citizens must work together to safeguard natural resources for future generations.
He stated, "We must fight to ensure our democratic rights are not taken away." He fears that if people do not speak up, their rights may be at risk. This call is not just partisan; it aims to protect the Fourth Republic.
Ahiagbah emphasized that protecting the environment requires commitment from both government and citizens. "We cannot sit and feel helpless," he said. "We must engage and cannot be indifferent."
He urged all Ghanaians to join in this fight for their environment, water bodies, and democratic rights for themselves and future generations.
