Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A-Plus, is the MP for Gomoa Central. He recently confessed on live TV that he received "good money" from Joseph Siaw Agyepong. Agyepong is the owner of Zoomlion Ghana Limited. A-Plus said this payment was to stop him from discussing the company's contracts.
A-Plus mentioned that after he posted about Zoomlion on Facebook, Agyepong called him repeatedly. When they finally met, Agyepong paid him to cease his social media comments.
He began speaking out against Zoomlion after Paul Adom Otchere defamed him on his show, Good Evening. During a segment, Otchere accused A-Plus of taking GH₵250,000.
A-Plus responded by saying he would not attack NPP parliamentarians but focused on waste management issues instead. He claimed that since Zoomlion owns Metro TV, he wanted to challenge them directly.
Despite many calls from Zoomlion, A-Plus initially ignored them. He stated that he stopped his waste management campaign after receiving payment from Agyepong for the defamation incident.
He also warned Otchere not to provoke him further and hinted at revealing information about two of Otchere's friends. Meanwhile, some Ghanaians are calling for an end to Zoomlion’s involvement in the Youth Employment Agency's sanitation module due to a lapsed contract.
The video of A-Plus's confession has been shared widely online.
