The staff of the Juapong District of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) attended a seminar on security and safety.
Chief Inspector Eugene Osafo Obiri from the Ghana Police Service was the keynote speaker. He oversees Juapong, Frankadua, Nudu, Apegusu, Mpakadan, and nearby areas.
He emphasized improving customer relations among the staff. He warned that how they communicate can lead to anger or violence.
Obiri advised workers to scan their surroundings for potential danger. They should retreat quickly and report any issues to supervisors or police.
He stressed that ECG staff must show patience and restraint. This helps diffuse tension during interactions with customers.
Obiri expressed disappointment in some staff who extort money from customers. He urged them to wear proper attire and show ID cards when needed.
Ing William Ahenkorah is the District Manager for ECG Juapong District under the Tema Region. He reminded staff to inform customers about ECG's cashless policy.
Staff must teach customers how to make cashless payments. They should never accept money from customers for payments.
Ahenkorah warned that violating company policy could lead to job loss. The seminar addressed threats faced by field workers during their duties.
