The staff of the Juapong District of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) attended a seminar on security and safety.
Chief Inspector Eugene Osafo Obiri from the Ghana Police Service was the keynote speaker. He oversees Juapong, Frankadua, Nudu, Apegusu, Mpakadan, and nearby areas.
He emphasized improving customer relations among ECG staff. He warned that poor communication could lead to anger or violence.
Obiri advised workers to scan their surroundings for potential dangers. They should retreat and report any threats to supervisors or police.
He stressed the need for patience when dealing with customers. This can help diffuse tension and ensure smooth operations.
Obiri expressed disappointment over some staff extorting money from customers. He urged them to wear proper attire and show ID cards when needed.
Ing William Ahenkorah is the District Manager for ECG Juapong District in the Tema Region. He reminded staff that ECG has gone cashless.
Staff must educate customers about cashless payments. They should never accept money from customers for payments.
Ahenkorah warned that violating company policy could lead to job loss. The seminar addressed safety concerns faced by field workers during their duties.
