Judiciary is your recourse if rights are violated – Legal expert reacts to Nat’l Security raids

Nii Kpakpo Addo is a private lawyer and member of the NDC legal team. He encourages people to seek justice if their rights were violated during recent National Security operations.

He spoke on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue. He mentioned a former finance minister who has taken legal action. The minister claims his human rights were violated under Article 33 of the Constitution.

Addo explained, “In this case, he has gone to court. He feels that his rights have been violated under Article 33. That is the recourse to law.”

He stressed that any citizen can pursue legal options if they feel unfairly treated.

“If you believe your rights have been violated, you can go to court,” he said.

He added, “You can vindicate your rights in court. If you think the search was unlawful or unfair, you have a grievance.”
