Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff, has summoned Sammy Gyamfi. Gyamfi is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board. This follows a viral video showing him gifting large sums of money to Nana Agradaa.
In the video, Gyamfi is seen with Nana Agradaa, a former fetish priestess. They are standing next to his white Range Rover while taking a photo. The video was shared on social media platform X.
After their conversation, Gyamfi sat in his car and counted US dollars. Nana Agradaa insisted he give her all the money instead of just some. She then took all the cash from him and flaunted it to bystanders.
Reports indicate that Gyamfi must explain this transaction to the Chief of Staff. Debrah had previously warned government appointees about crossing ethical lines. He emphasized compliance with President Mahama's new Code of Conduct.
Sammy Gyamfi has publicly apologized for his actions. He expressed sincere regret over what he called an unfortunate act of indiscretion. He stated that giving money to those in need is part of his daily routine.
Many believe this behavior could harm public trust in government officials. Some argue that figures like Nana Agradaa should not be associated with the government at all.
