Just as Charlotte Osei was removed without any precedent, CJ should be removed – Barker Vormawor

Youth activist Oliver Barker Vormawor believes the Chief Justice should be removed if necessary. He argues there should be no hesitation in this process.

Vormawor points out that former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo removed the Electoral Commission chairperson and her deputies without a precedent.

He stated, “There was no precedent for the removal of an EC boss before we removed one.” He compared the NPP to Republicans, suggesting they take aggressive actions while expecting restraint from others.

His comments follow remarks from Akyem Swedru's Member of Parliament. The MP claimed that removing the Chief Justice has never happened and would weaken government authority.

Vormawor's post warned that attempts to remove the Chief Justice threaten judicial integrity. He said such actions could divide and destroy the judiciary completely.

He noted that past efforts to remove Chief Justices were unsuccessful and urged against allowing current attempts to succeed.
