K.T. Hammond demands apology from Captain Smart over alleged tribal remarks

Kobina Tahir Hammond, Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa, has demanded a public apology and retraction from radio presenter Captain Smart after allegations of tribalistic remarks were attributed to him in a viral video.

The video, which shows Hammond in an agitated state, was accompanied by commentary from Captain Smart accusing him of making derogatory comments about an Ewe contender for a parliamentary seat in the Ashanti Region.

Hammond denies the allegations, calling them false and defamatory, and has demanded compensation for reputational damage.

His lawyer issued a deadline of December 18, 2024, for a response before considering legal action.
