Over 1,000 people gathered at the Kumasi Central Mosque for EIDFEST. This event was organized by the KGL Foundation to celebrate Eid. It aimed to support individuals and families in need during Ramadan.
Attendees received packed food and drinks. They could eat at the venue or take items home. The Foundation ensured everyone was catered for in a respectful atmosphere.
EIDFEST included more than just food. There were musical performances, dancing activities, and interactive games. These attractions created a vibrant and joyful mood. People from all walks of life celebrated unity within the community.
Traditional authorities attended the event, including chiefs and queen mothers. The chief Imam of the Kumasi Central Mosque was also present. Their participation highlighted collaboration and cultural respect.
Nii Ankonu Annorbah-Sarpei spoke on behalf of Mr. Elliot Dadey, CEO of KGL Foundation. He emphasized that EIDFEST is about more than giving food. It creates a space where people feel seen and supported during this meaningful time.
The Foundation received help from Muslim Family Counselling Services for planning logistics. They also extended support to the Muslim community in Accra with a cash donation to the National Chief Imam for Eid celebrations.
Additionally, they donated essential food items and toiletries to Rahmah Orphanage in Accra. This ensured children enjoyed Eid with dignity and care.
