KGL Group Chair Donates Towards Sports Development At Mfantsipim

**The Presentation**

Mr. Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, welcomed a delegation from the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) to KGL House. This visit highlighted their shared commitment to education, sports, and youth empowerment.

The meeting included esteemed alumni like former MOBA President Capt. Paul Forjoe and newly inducted Abusuapanin Moses Kwesi Baiden Jr. Ambassador Ashim Morton also attended. Their presence emphasized the strong bond between Mfantsipim and its alumni network.

Mr. Dadey, a proud Mfantsipim alumnus, reflected on his school years. He spoke about the discipline, leadership, and competitive spirit that shaped him. As a top athlete in 100m and 200m races, he noted how sports taught him hard work and teamwork.

To support sports development at Mfantsipim, Mr. Dadey donated GH¢100,000 for initiatives. He also introduced the Alex Dadey Sportsman of the Year Award with an annual prize of GH¢10,000 for deserving athletes during Speech and Prize Giving Day.

Mr. Dadey announced a mentorship scheme with KGL Group for young MOBA professionals. This program aims to equip them with industry-ready skills for Ghana's job market.

Reverend Ebenezer Aidoo, Headmaster of Mfantsipim School, thanked Mr. Dadey for his contributions. He highlighted Mfantsipim’s legacy of balancing academic excellence with talent development.

He proudly mentioned the school's victory in the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz as proof of its commitment to academic growth. However, he stressed that Mfantsipim also nurtures student-athletes through grassroots scouting across the country.

Mr. Dadey passionately stated that sports is vital to KGL's corporate strategy. He emphasized their investment in grassroots football through the Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship led by KGL Foundation.

KGL Group is also a proud sponsor of the Black Stars to promote national pride through sports culture in Ghana. Beyond football, they support boxing through NLA 590 Mobile to expand their impact on various sports disciplines.

Abusua Panyin Moses Baiden called for better processes within MOBA for funds acquisition and dissemination. He advocated sustaining the MOBA Secretariat to enhance alumni engagement effectively.

As a former school goalkeeper, he praised Mfantsipim’s holistic learning approach that blends academics with sports. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Dadey for his support in developing the Mfantsipim Sports Complex.

Former MOBA President Capt. Paul Forjoe and Ambassador Ashim Morton commended Mr. Dadey's generosity as impactful for Mfantsipim’s sports infrastructure and MOBA's growth as an alumni brand.

The event concluded with calls for deeper collaboration between KGL Group and MOBA to empower youth through sports and education.
