The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has declared two former students as persona non grata. The individuals are Ransford Fosu-Boateng, known as “Scammer Baby,” and Raphael Appiah Owusu. This decision is due to their ongoing misconduct and threats to campus security.
A statement from Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, Deputy Registrar, provided details. Fosu-Boateng was dismissed on March 21, 2022. Owusu's dismissal took effect at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year.
Despite their dismissals, both men reportedly accessed residential halls. They engaged in disruptive activities and harassed university members. Recently, they allegedly participated in an unlawful gathering that caused vandalism.
This incident was captured by campus CCTV systems. As a result, university management took immediate action against them.
The statement emphasized that these individuals are no longer KNUST students. They are not allowed on campus and will be treated as trespassers if found there.
KNUST management warned current students against associating with them. Anyone who helps or facilitates their presence will face strict disciplinary actions. The university remains committed to ensuring a safe environment for teaching and learning.
