KNUST declares two former students persona non grata over violent conduct

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has declared Mr. Ransford Fosuo-Boateng and Mr. Raphael Appiah persona non grata. This decision follows their involvement in a violent incident on campus.

A statement from the university's Registrar, dated April 11, 2025, details the situation. The two former students completed their studies in the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic years. They physically assaulted some members of the university community on March 30, 2025.

The statement noted that their actions breached university statutes and regulations. It also indicated that these actions constituted criminal behavior. Investigations and CCTV surveillance identified them as participants in an unlawful gathering.

As a result, they have been declared persona non grata. They are not allowed on KNUST campus or to engage in any activities there.

The release warned current students against participating in acts that threaten safety at the university. KNUST is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all members of its community.

The notice was signed by Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, Deputy Registrar of the University Relations Office.
