KNUST student allegedly killed by lover to be buried this weekend

Joana Deladem Yabani, a KNUST student, was allegedly murdered by her lover. She will be laid to rest on April 5, 2025.

The burial service will be at Jehovah Shammah Assemblies of God Church. It is located in New Ashongman, Accra. The service starts at 8:30 AM with a filing past.

A thanksgiving service will follow on April 13, 2025, at the same church.

Joana passed away on February 27, 2025. She is survived by her parents and eight siblings.

Her death shocked many after reports claimed her lover killed her. Her body was found near the school’s Rehabilitation and Disability Centre. She had been studying for her mid-semester exam.

Daniel Tuffour, her alleged killer, is currently facing trial. Preliminary investigations have implicated him in her death. The case has caused widespread outrage and calls for justice.
