Kadjebi District: Accident claims 5 lives on Eastern Corridor Road

Five people died in a tragic accident on the Eastern Corridor Road. The accident occurred at Dodo-Pepesu in the Kadjebi District on April 9.

A VIP Bus, registered as GT 6598-10, was coming from Nkwanta. It collided head-on with a Benz Sprinter Bus, registered as GT 6151-U, traveling from Kadjebi.

An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA). They said the VIP Bus swerved to avoid a pothole. In doing so, it crashed into the Sprinter Bus.

The source reported that four people died in the Sprinter Bus. One person died in the VIP Bus.

Mr. Kingsford Seyram Adzimah is the Assemblyman for Dodo-Pepesu/Dodo-Tamale. He heard about the accident but could not provide details since he was not present.

Superintendent Frank Nana Asomaning confirmed the incident as Kadjebi District Commander of the Ghana Police Service. He stated that bodies were taken to St. Mary Theresa Catholic Hospital in Dodi-Papase. About 12 injured individuals are also receiving treatment at that hospital.
