Karim Zito named Interim Head Coach as Asante Kotoko overhauls technical team

Asante Kotoko SC has appointed Abdul Karim Zito as Interim Head Coach. He will also serve as Technical Director. This marks a new era in the club’s technical restructuring.

Zito is a former player and coach of the club. He returns with a strong track record at both club and national levels. Recently, he led Dreams FC to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals. He also guided Ghana’s U-20 team to win the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

His dual role aims to bring stability as the club searches for a permanent head coach. Prince Yaw Owusu joins him as Assistant Coach.

Owusu has over two decades of coaching experience in Ghana, Sudan, and the United States. His background includes roles with Medeama SC, Inter Allies, and Ghana's U-20 and U-17 teams. He is known for nurturing talents who have moved to top European clubs like AC Milan and Fiorentina.

Additionally, former Technical Director Malik Jabir will serve as Technical Advisor. In this role, he will provide guidance to support the club’s long-term vision.

Asante Kotoko states that these appointments reflect their commitment to building a strong technical structure for consistent success on the pitch.
