Karpowership Ghana has appointed Oscar Kojo Amonoo-Neizer as its new Managing Director.
Amonoo-Neizer has over 30 years of experience in the energy sector. He is skilled in policy, energy management, technical regulation, and project coordination.
Before joining Karpowership Ghana, he was the Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission of Ghana. There, he helped shape policies and ensure regulatory compliance in the energy sector.
His leadership improved technical regulations and developed energy efficiency standards. He also strengthened compliance frameworks for electricity and natural gas industries in Ghana.
Previously, Amonoo-Neizer served as Director of Energy at the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC). He led audits, policy development, and enforcement to enhance efficiency in the electricity sector.
Amonoo-Neizer is a trained Electrical Engineer from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Ghana Business School. Additionally, he has a Postgraduate Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Fachhochschule Aachen in Germany.
He is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) and participates in international energy negotiations and regulatory forums.
In his new role, Amonoo-Neizer expressed excitement about leading Karpowership Ghana. He stated that he looks forward to supplying reliable power to the national grid.
He emphasized teamwork to strengthen operations at Karpowership Ghana. His goal is to ensure that the company remains vital to Ghana’s power sector for years ahead.
