Karpowership partners Fisheries Commission, NADMO to train fisherfolk in W/R

Karpowership Ghana is committed to community development and environmental sustainability.

They organized a Fisherfolk Empowerment Programme with the Fisheries Commission and NADMO.

The training took place in Sekondi on Tuesday.

It was themed “Powering Coastal Minds: Building Resilient Fishing Communities.”

Local fisherfolk from Karpowership’s operational area attended the event.

The goal was to equip them with knowledge for safe fishing practices.

The day-long training included three key sessions led by experts.

Emma Akosua Adu Boafo from NADMO, Mr. Joseph Yeboah, and Mr. Patrick Tewiah from the Fisheries Commission conducted the sessions.

Topics covered included Safety at Sea, Clean Fishing, and Good Fish Handling Techniques.

Safety at Sea focused on emergency preparedness and life jacket use.

Clean Fishing promoted sustainable practices and marine conservation.

Good Fish Handling Techniques included basic first aid skills for emergencies.

Sandra Amarquaye, Corporate Communications Manager at Karpowership Ghana, spoke at the event.

She emphasized empowering local communities and key stakeholders.
