Patrick Ndego, a dedicated member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has made an urgent appeal. He wants President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize the fight against vigilantism. This is especially important in areas like Kasoa in the Central Region.
In a recent interview, Mr. Ndego expressed his worries about rising violence in Kasoa. He mentioned incidents of beatings, threats, and even murder linked to vigilante groups. “People are being brutalized, warned, and in some cases, killed,” he said. “This cannot continue. The President must act decisively to restore order.”
His comments come as a murder case involving a military officer approaches its next court hearing on May 12. A jury has already been empaneled for this high-profile case. It has raised public concerns about justice and political influence in legal matters.
Ndego also cautioned fellow NDC members against interfering with the judicial process. “If someone is an NDC member and has done something wrong, the law must take its course,” he stated firmly. He warned against selective justice based on party affiliation.
“We will not tolerate interference,” he declared. “If any minister tries to influence this case for political reasons, we will come after you.”
