Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has alleged that some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), conspired to have him imprisoned due to his criticism of the government.
In an interview with Joy FM, A Plus claimed the plan to jail him was disrupted by NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong.
He described Mr. Agyapong as a man of fairness, crediting the outspoken MP for saving him from fabricated charges.
A Plus recounted that on the day of the court appearance, he was prepared to face potential imprisonment until Kennedy Agyapong intervened, calling from America and returning to Ghana to stop the plot.
A Plus praised Agyapong’s integrity and courage, emphasizing his commitment to justice, regardless of political affiliations. The incident, he said, strengthened his resolve to continue holding public officials accountable.
