Ken Ofori-Atta is not avoiding OSP - Alhassan Tampuli

Alhassan Tampuli Sulemana, the MP for Gushegu, spoke on Joy FM. He defended former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta. He claimed Mr. Ofori-Atta is not avoiding the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

Tampuli suggested that the OSP should use virtual interrogation methods. This suggestion comes due to Mr. Ofori-Atta’s current health issues.

Mr. Ofori-Atta served as Finance Minister from 2017 to 2024. He is under investigation by the OSP for several financial transactions. These include contracts with Strategic Mobilisation Limited and ECG-BXC, payments for the National Cathedral, ambulance procurement, and Tax Refund Account usage.

Ofori-Atta's legal team cited medical complications for his absence. They requested a virtual session to help him cooperate with the OSP. However, the OSP insists he must appear in person. They noted that no medical report has been provided to explain his absence.

Currently, Mr. Ofori-Atta is on the OSP's wanted list.
