Former Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. Stephen Amoah, has stated that ex-Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta must be held accountable and is not above the law.
Speaking on GHOne TV with Serwaa Amihere, Dr. Amoah dismissed claims that Ofori-Atta is a fugitive, clarifying that a fugitive is someone evading captivity.
He criticized the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for declaring Ofori-Atta wanted, calling the move unethical.
Dr. Amoah also defended the E-Levy, insisting it was necessary for Ghana’s revenue generation.
Despite public backlash, he argued that the country’s deficit-driven economy requires tax adjustments to remain sustainable.
