Ken Ofori-Atta sues OSP for declaring him wanted

Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) following its recent announcement that he is wanted for questioning in connection with ongoing investigations. The OSP's declaration, made public last week, alleged that Ofori-Atta had failed to comply with a summons related to inquiries into potential financial misconduct. In response, the minister filed a suit in Accra’s High Court, contesting the legality of the OSP's actions and requesting a declaration that he is not subject to such an order.

Ofori-Atta asserts that he has cooperated fully with previous investigations and argues that the OSP's move undermines his reputation and authority as a government official. The case brings attention to tensions between Ghana's political leadership and accountability mechanisms, particularly as allegations of corruption continue to surface within various sectors. As the situation unfolds, it remains crucial for both parties to clarify their positions while ensuring transparency and upholding democratic processes in governance.
