Former Member of Parliament Kennedy Ohene Agyapong spoke about his recent clash with Kwame Baffoe, known as Abronye DC. Abronye is the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The incident occurred during the party's Thank You Tour.
In an interview on Good Morning Ghana, Mr. Agyapong expressed his feelings clearly. He stated, “I would not allow Abronye DC to diss me anyhow in front of people.” He emphasized that respect must be mutual and he will defend himself against public insults.
Mr. Agyapong did not share all the details about their confrontation. However, his comments reflect rising tensions among senior NPP members after the party's defeat in the 2024 general election.
The clash took place at Berekum in the Bono Region during Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s national tour last Monday. Mr. Agyapong placed second in the NPP presidential primaries and has a strong grassroots following. He stressed that he will not accept public humiliation from any party member, no matter their position.
